To all-Tellab's at 493/4 or up 60% from recent lows of $31.
Maybe we overlook the recent merger with Coherent on 8/3/98.
Here was a company with 200 employees that had 25% of world's echo cancellor market and Tellab's had 25%.CCSC had no debt, was growing at 30% per year, had just put a factory in China and it's mgt. is dying to bring out new products after this merger There is plenty of aynergy there as well as mutual respect.Goto coherent.com to get a good overview of co. and it's products.
At a recent meeting, their Pres.Daniel McGinnis said that it won't be too long before sales of echo-cancellor type products, after the merger, could overtake Titan sales. Now even if that doesn't take place, it's nice to have that amount of enthusiasm on our team.
My old calculations showed that in 1999, with the addition of .72 times 15,634,000 CCSC shares or 11,256,480 shares of Tellab's, once converted, this addition would add $.10 net profit per share in 1999. Now at 30PE that's adding $3.00 to our share price in 1999.
We need to appreciate this addition, we have tended to ignore this good news, and have focused too much attention to Ciena deal.
