There was a guard turrent at the end of the hill that dated back to the 1300's. Lots of war there. The barracks were for the officers to use Jewish ladies for pleasure [the officers, not the ladies] before the ladies were shipped off to whatever ungodly fate they got.

Strangely, most of the weird stuff happened 50 yards down the hill at the motor pool, God knows how it was used. At night we would have two people on guard duty in the motor pool, in the office. The parts room was next to the office. Had a bunch of windshield wiper vacuum powered motors. Being not hooked up they had a very distinctive suck-pow when being tested by hand. Used to sit and listen to them all night. Go into the room and nothing. One day we had an exhaust system for a 725 crackerbox ambulance on the top shelf. 6 of us heard that system fall and bounce on the cement. Went in and nothing had moved.

There was a trail from Landsthul to our base that was used on the way back after a night on the town. Narrow, 500 foot drop. Many times someone would slip and be grabbed, turn to thank the fellow behind them and find a Lt. in a WWII uniform. Always the last guy in line. I saw him before I heard of him.

Christmas was the zinger. A bunch of us were in an apartment eating a pizza and having a few. Weegie board came out. The message was you have to open the door for evil to come in. An idiot opened the friggin door and in came a cat. Instantly the cat ripped apart the Christmas tree and back out the door. One guy read up on the Druids and trees and started wearing a crucifix.
