Tony , because the Dram mfrs affect the SOX index
If you compare the SOX index to most semi cos charts you will see there is a co-relation between them even if they do not produce DRAMS,
call it investor sentiment towards semi companies . The sox index looks like it is breaking out a 12 month slump.
