Gateway Names Kenneth M. Stickevers Vice President
of Brand Management

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1998-- Gateway today
announced that Kenneth M. Stickevers has been named vice president of brand management
for Gateway. Mr. Stickevers will report to Anil Arora, senior vice president and chief
marketing officer, and will be responsible for developing Gateway's brand management
strategy.

"Ken brings a wealth of brand management experience to Gateway," said Arora. "He
understands the key elements of furthering our goal of humanizing the digital revolution."

Mr. Stickevers was most recently director of Customer Development at The Pillsbury
Company, where he developed business strategies for the Baked Goods division. He also
served as marketing director of Pillsbury's Mexican Foods division, where he managed R&D,
manufacturing, sales, finance and advertising personnel. In addition, Stickevers held senior
brand management positions with Kraft Foods where he served as senior brand manager and
manager of strategy. Prior to Kraft, he was a captain in the Air Force where he managed new
weapon flight test programs.

Mr. Stickevers earned a bachelor of science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute,

AKLM is a very hard call. I happen to like this sector and watch ATVI, ERTS, THQI. If the estimates blow away street it could do a shot up like RATL did. But AKLM has had a very nice uptrend already and I worry that it is overbought. What happens if the report is okay but they say something slightly negative about the first quarter
I've read that they have had many delays getting their new games out on time and the competition is very strong.

Yes, at present the chart is very bullish even above its 30 day moving average. The OBV volume is the highest its been in months. But AKLM has gone up 20% in 3 consecutive days according to a nasdaq review on volume/price increases. Watch tomorrow for big blocks going through or any sign of fizzling volume. I would probably sell half a position and hold the other half if you are bent on holding. For me it was just a great and profitable trade.
