Dell vs Cpq. Dell offers a multimonitor workstation with NT. Cpq sales the 5635 which I bought thinking I could add another video card to and get multimonitor support since it runs on Windows 98. If it does work it sure isn't plug and play. Have been messing around with it for days. Cpq doesn't answer email. If Windows 98 supports multimonitors why isn't a computer available with several monitors at Dell running Windows 98? And if the Compaq 5635 was designed for Windows 98 why is it so hard to plug in another video card and get it to work. Either PCs or Windows is still buggy as ever.

There is much more to direct model than just mail order. Go to the Dell facts thread and see post no 26 on "virtual integration" the Mike Dell Harvard Business Review interview. You must read it to understand why Dell is unstoppable for 5 years.
