Perhaps, I can help you answer your question.

DELL sells corporate desktops and this is where the action is for the Y2K fixes. Y2K has a positive impact on DELL's sales in 1999.
In fact, DELL is number one in the US in corporate desktop sales and has rapid growth elsewhere.
