Thean...do you use decisionpoint daily TA charts? The dow is at resistance from the long time two year uptrend support line today. Interesting to see if that will hold. It would seem to be major area of resistance.

as for puts...I am liking DD todau. Very bad earnings and failed to hold the 200 day ma yesterday. A return to 50 looks reasonable.

Thean, fair enough. My put strategy is such that if the damn stock goes to $100, I haven't lost much but if it goes to $60, I've made a bundle. That's what I like about puts/calls. Uncertainty in the market for sure. This had a much lower risk yesterday than today to be sure.

For those who dare to go long. QCOM had a major victory over Ericsson yesterday. Ericsson dropped their claims against Qualcomms patents on the soft hand over in CDMA. This is in contrast to the hard click one hears in analog when moving from one cell to the next. Hope I haven't lost everyone. In basic terms it means that Ericsson and Nokia, etc. WILL have to start paying royalties to Qualcomm in the near future regardless of what the courts say next year. I'm picking up some leap calls and putting them away in the retirement account.
