Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Successfully Launches SAP R/3 With
Help From RWD

PR Newswire - May 03, 1999 17:04

RWD Technologies' Public Sector Practice Provided Critical Training Support

COLUMBIA, Md., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- RWD Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: RWDT) played a key role in helping the Port Authority
of New York and New Jersey implement SAP(TM) R/3(TM). This is another TeamSAP success for RWD Technologies and the first for
its new public sector practice.

RWD managed all aspects of the Port Authority's training needs, including analysis and design of training materials and documentation,
identification of end user roles, classroom instruction, logistics for training facilities, training administration, and on-the-job coaching after
go-live.

"RWD was responsible for the development and delivery of training to the Port Authority's SAP R/3 end user community. They provided
high quality training materials, well-defined development and delivery processes, and practical experience from a wide variety of previous
client implementations to help the Port Authority implement SAP. Because of RWD, we were able to get our system configured and get our
people working effectively in record time," said John D'Amore, the Port Authority SAP Project Director.

Using performance-based methodologies, RWD developed training solutions for small, targeted groups that focused on their particular job
tasks, then reinforced the training with one-on-one instruction. This focused approach reduced the anticipated training time by 70 percent,
resulting in significant cost savings for the Port Authority. In addition, RWD provided on-site coaches, which freed up 15 employees to
focus on day-to-day operations and other critical activities. Because RWD was able to use the actual production system during training
development, end users learned R/3 in a real-world setting and the project team was able to validate the data, processes, and business
assumptions before go-live.

"This project illustrates how the TeamSAP concept works. The project team used SAP's AcceleratedSAP methodology to coordinate the
complex communication and job responsibilities of multiple consultants and contractors to make this project a real success," said David
Miller, Executive Director, RWD Technologies.
