" Clearing the prairies"

I grew up in Alberta around Red Deer and Grand Prairie. Since then I farm in Sask and live on the west coast. I have seen the land cleared with cats pulling a ball and chain, Big brush guards in front and pushing side by side.

Drove gravel truck and run excavator. Chain saw, shovel, or hammer if required.

Fished the west coast for salmon 8 years.

Took on any seasonal work I could.

The development of these mines will produce limited enviro impacts and produce a boost to the economy comparable to the best in history. No acid rain, no chemical residue, they only effect there direct surroundings and with better "land reclimation" due to better enviro laws that have already been brought in to effect.

I farm land that has been cleared but drive around a few pieces of bush. There are lots of deer that feed on my crop. Foxes, Hawks, and others abound.

Development will continue and we will get better at it.

regards

Off Topic............"In Manitoba, it isn't blocking the cariboo that's a problem but the
fact that mega swine raising farms are depositing vast amounts
of pig manure onto land that has a hard clay base. Except for one
or two rather weak protests nobody is saying anything even though
their water supply is in serious danger. "

Good point me lad,the best use of land is for growing grains and vegetables to eat..to eat... rather than running them through pigs and loosing 90% of their value and the incredible wasting and contamination of water as well.

One acre of land can produce 20,000 pounds of potatoes or one acre of land can produce 165 pounds of beef.

I'll use my acre for spuds.GG
