My take on that, and the press released today are as follows:

1. As noted in posts above, the Visual PC will slip into January, but will be aggressively priced in the $3.5K -4K range.

2. They are predicting low double-digit growth in next quarter

3. They did NOT break out server growth is quarter (like they did last time) except to comment that it was growing. I take this to mean that the figures are disappointing.

4. The extent so far of the buy-back was 2.6 million shares at 28 million bucks. (So I guess they have been propping up the share price at about $11/share)

5. Still no personal appearance from Rocket Rick.

6. They are predicting profitability for next year, so I think they are expecting big growth from the VPC. This product is expected to redefine the company's product footprint.

7. Cash is increasing. Nothing unhealthy about that.

8. Cray is evaporating. They basicly said the Vector Supercomputer business is almost gone, and will be wiped out -- mainly by SGI's own products. So much for all those years of merger costs.

9. SGI management does not think new HP products represent a significant threat to SGI. I guess RR is the one to know.

10. Nothing about expected revenue from the flat-panel display. I guess it is not expected to be significant.

11. No big announcements.
