Net Nanny Registered with SEC, Listing on OTCBB, Expands European Distribution
Bellevue, Washington, November 12, 1998 - Net Nanny Software International Inc. (NNS.V, NNSWF) is pleased to announce that the Company's 20F Registration Statement has been accepted by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States. The Company's securities are now eligible to be reinstated for trading on the Over the Counter Bulletin Board, regulated by the NASD, with the symbol NNSWF.
Additionally, the Company has signed a distribution agreement with Clifton Reed Consultants, based in Woking, Surrey, England as Net Nanny® resellers. Clifton Reed Consultants have been supplying education establishments with PC services and IT consultancy for the last 13 years and more recently developed their own Network security products Ranger and WebRanger. "This alliance will enable us to provide Schools and Colleges with a complete security solution. Fundamentally, this will mean that staff and parents will be confident that their children and students are using school networks and the Internet in a safe and secure environment" said Marie Palmer, Sales and Marketing Manager. "With the impact of the second phase of the National Grid for Learning initiative we expect that during 1999 at least 100,000 students will be using Net Nanny® and our Ranger suite of products to control their school intranet and World Wide Web activities." The Prime Minister of England, Tony Blair, announced last week that the UK Government is committing an extra £430 million for the program of linking every school to the Internet. This intended investment comes on top of the £269 million already announced and takes the Government's investment budget in computers for the National Grid for Learning to £700 million. Additionally, there is a further £300 million available from the National Lottery for teacher computer training. It is the Government's stated intention that every school will be linked to the Internet by 2002. "We are particularly pleased to expand our operations in Europe at a time when Internet literacy and connections are mounting" said Gordon Ross, CEO and President of Net Nanny Software International Inc. "The addition of Clifton Reed Consultants as distributors of our unique product line to the education market gives us three distributors in this burgeoning growth market. Net Nanny® is now being sold in retail stores, through Internet Service Providers, and directly via the Internet to the home, corporate and education markets throughout England."
NET NANNY SOFTWARE INTERNATIONAL INC.
In January 1995, Net Nanny Software International Inc. introduced the first filtering software product of its kind. Today, Net Nanny and NNPro for networks continue to be the preferred choice for parents, schools, and businesses that want flexible, editable software tools and free databases for protecting their families, their organizations and their digital data. The products control more than just the Internet - they are the only tools that work at the operating system level, monitoring, auditing, and/or blocking material in every Windows application, online or offline, in real time. This unique approach allows the products to also patrol the most potentially dangerous online environments - email, chat rooms and one-on-one instant messaging programs - in which children tend to be at the most risk.
The Company also holds an exclusive patent on keystroke dynamics, a biometrics security and access control technology. Totally software-based, BioPassword* uses a patented process, owned exclusively by Net Nanny Software International Inc., which utilizes keystroke dynamic technology developed by top engineers at Stanford Research Institute. It uses biometric (body characteristic) measurements and a proprietary algorithm to record an individual's unique typing rhythm. The technology can be used with any keypad, from computer keyboards to ATM machines to telephones.
