Mrs. Jones,
<I NEED a new ISP real bad.>

So do I! I haven't switched yet but I'm going to try MegsINet next. I think I talked Thean into it too. Some friends at work use them and all report great things. Very reliable high speed 56k/V.90 connections. Not just high speed connections but fast servers too. If you're too rural you might be stuck connecting at 33K, but that's your phone line, not your ISP. One friend reported a wee start up problem but good tech support that resolved it quickly (they initially gave him the wrong DNS addresses). Which all sounds pretty good to me even without considering that their rate for unlimited access is only $9.95. They've got Milwaukee area POP but won't do if you need national access.

Thean,
Don't give up on that Winmodem 'till you try another ISP. I had the same problem getting bumped when I had that ISP you're using now, and it most certainly was not a modem problem! According to my experience, POS suits them much better than POP <G>. A company I'd like to make really big bucks off of by shorting!

From my experience, an ISP to avoid is FlashNet. I'm looking too and may just go back to AOL. It seems to have fixed its problems and I can probably live with the 100 hours.
