The McClellan Oscillator is a short term indicator... It goes from points above "0" to points below "0"... Going below "0" would not be a traumatic event...

As you can see from the chart (Red portion), the Oscillator fluctuates from both positive and negative extremes during up moves and down moves... So, yes, the market could resume the uptrend without the Oscillator going below "0"... But, going below "0" would be healthy for the market at this time as it would give the market a stronger base several hundred points lower...
