Thanks, Eric. Which of course leads back to Message 6106144 where I wrote:

The thing about that meeting, the Netscape story is pretty much in character with many similar stories about meeting with Microsoft.

and your response, techstocks.com

As for Firefly, nice context switch.

It is one of those context things, the "hardball capitalism" that friends of Bill are so proud of, and that shows up in every story about other companies meeting and dealing with Microsoft, was somehow totally absent from that meeting. At least in this particular legal context. Of course, Bill's told us the "truth" about that meeting:

Gates previously called the allegation about collusion ''an outrageous lie.'' He said the 1995 meeting ''was to discuss various technologies Microsoft proposed sharing with Netscape, so that Netscape's browser could take advantage of the cool new features we were developing for Windows 95.''

Speaking of context, on the now infamous Clark memo, there's this little tidbit from zdnet.com :

After the questioning was over, however, copies of the entire Clark e-mail message revealed a crucial fact Warden had ignored. In the last line of the e-mail message, Clark wrote: "No one in my organization knows about this message."

Cheers, Dan.
