Hello Mark, There is confusion over Kadin.net and Primedia Armo Ekadata, and whether they are one of the same. When I spoke to Indonesia ISP Association about DGIV's ISP, they referred me to kadin.net. I contacted them, (at the e-mail you provided) and they wrote back and said they were not, and had nothing to do with Primedia Armo Ekadata. Thankfully, they did not stop there. I will post email I received, but it will be edited to remove e-mail address and other information not relevant to this discussion. From: Hillman M Sulaiman "Dear Sir thank you for quick reply, Yes PT.ARMO EKADATA IS INDONESIAN ISP, but they don't have any business with us (KADINnet). Legally they are fine, and I know one of them Mr. Anton Subianto ( he is good guy ) We don't have any problem with them. Our Organization confused too. KADINnet (Entity) is belong to the KADIN FOUNDATION with mean and clear is Indonesia Chamber of Commerce property" I also asked about the licensure issue, Here is what I asked and his reply, Q.There has also been confusion of licensure. Specifically, whether this is a restriction on the number of ISPs that may operate. Are there any such limits, and if so can you elaborate on what they are. A. Yes government now have been issued 42 licenses for ISP, but economic crisis influent their operation. Actually there no limitation for ISP as long the applicant can perform normally. I read this to mean there is some type of capacity tests, and if you can meet them, you can be issued a license. While there does not appear to be an absolute bar, the economic crisis may make passing the performance test, whatever that is, difficult, and therefore might lead one to conclude, "No, more licenses are expected to be issued." My Interpretation only. I was also interested in privileges. I don't think Digiticom is a scam, but I don't discount the possibility. I thought information on privileges would be useful, if they differ by ISP license, then i'd want to know if Digitcom got the delux model, or bottom of the barrel. I thought it would be very misleading if in the technical sense, they could say they had an ISP license, but as a practical matter, there were restrictions on what they could offer compared to other ISPs. Here is my question and his reply. Q. Do all ISP licenses entitle the holder to the same privileges? I mean are all ISP authorized to offer the same set of services, or are there limits depending on the license. A. Yes they are fine to offer any kind of service to public, the government encourage their innovative and creative service to attract the Indonesian communities to use Internet. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS (mine only) 1. Because other investors have landed at Kandin.net thinking they had found Primedia Armo Ekadata, I sent a note to Digitcom Officials advising them of this. Some other entities gave me the same information Mark posted. Still looking into this. 2. While I was disappointed in my mistake, I was glad to hear in regard to Mr. Anton Subianto "(he is good guy)" I believe Mr. Subianto is the CEO of Primedia Armo Ekadata. I have some information on Mr Subianto, but I want to contact him first and see how he feels about anything being posted on a public forum like SI. 3. As I have said, I own some stock in Digitcom, and I am sure I bring a bias to the table, so please read with grain of salt. But I don't comment on whether DGIV is good/bad investment. 4. I don't earn my living by researching Digitcom, so must run to work so I can continue to eat. If this is helpful to anyone, I am glad. bye.
