Hi Mr. Patience!
I know what you mean...This is exactly what happened to me about a year ago...
I saw a profile of a CEO and his company profiled on CNBC..I liked what I saw and it had closed at around 11 the day before so I decided to buy at the market..I placed the order around 9:00 and called my broker back at 10:00 to see what price I got it at and he came back and said Wow what kind of company is this?" There is a backlog of orders that came through on this stock and they had to halt momentarily the stock to sort out the orders because your price will be determined by the time it was placed in the system..(this was a NASDAQ stock) so I don't know what you got it at yet lets wait a few minutes...he then explained to me how dangerous it was to place market orders on a fast moving momentum stock as the price could really shoot up ...he then came back and said I got it at 20 (my heart pounded as I was thinking maybe around 15 since I had placed it so early...)..but now the stock was trading at almost 28 and I was so amazed at how fast this stock had moved in less than 24 hrs that I immediately sold it...I guess this is what you could call my one and only daytrade as I am a typical longterm holder of stocks..
This was one of those internet darlings that people got into because of the hype and all internet stocks were soaring at the time...
The difference here is that PNLK is a viable company with a true vision that is starting to come to fruition..I bought this stock before the runup in May and still held on and have been buying shares along the way....I was impressed with the company of strategic partners as well as the management team and still am..
My point is that I have experienced first hand at what happens with a stock moving too fast and it is difficult if not impossible for people to get the price they want..limit orders will not happen if you really want that stock..
I think the difference with PNLK is once the world knows about it and the revenues and upgraded versions are in place..the current stock price will NEVER be attainable again..who knows this could take weeks, months but it will happen...and I have the patience to wait...
Off topic...isn't the internet wonderful? Malko and others can travel around the world and still access and communicate with us..
it is wonderfully amazing..
