This is fantastic news. Can't imagine a more respected, deep-pocketed, and R&D-rich partner as Lucent. Way to go WR.

Any guesses as to where we'll open this morning? 25? 30? 35?

My guess is that this is the vendor announcement that Nate was referring to back in the Q2 conference call. Let's see if this will break us out of our No Man's Land.

Lucent CEO Richard McGinn just interviewed on CNBC. Indicated their increase in earnings and earnings beating street estimates was an indication of LU overall product strategy. Asked specifically about the new WCII equipment finance agreement which includes 2B in product financing he said they only provided this only to a company with proven buildout record and adequate financing in position. Asked about the risk of financing and he indicated they had done this for FON previously, and MCI had a similar start.
