Re New plant
Thats the new server production plant, first structure to be completed on the 570 acre leased or purchased by Dell last year in Austin. Was? is scheduled to open in Nov.
Its around 300k sq ft., and from a comment made last year, that area may finally include 6 mil sq ft of stuctures which I assume would be production, as the sales and administration area is in Round Rock.
I haven't seen the area but other SI members have and could say more about it. I may not have the EXACT facts here, because Dell tends
to do the job before telling the whole world about it .

what's up with the new plant?
The real limit on Dell these days is factory space. I think its funny to read some of these posts which wonder if demand is going to be 15% growth or 17% in the market, as if it matters to Dell. The real limit is that they can't go out and solicit all the business thats available because there isn't room to build all the machines. That will begin to change soon. (See previous reference to building a factory site outside of Austin since the next limit is finding enough workers to staff the factories).
