I got this from a UBC (Univ British Columbia, Kelowna) professor a couple weeks ago. He was on his way to give a talk in the US. He said Canada put off fixing the Y2K problem so long that they now have to look to the US for help. Rather than train the programers and write the software in Canada, thereby keeping the billions it will cost to fix the problem in Canada, they'll be giving away billions of Canadian tax dollars to the US.

It's one thing to have Clinton for a president, but giving away billions of your tax dollars...
