lisa, the dynamic of DELL's price moves in advance of earnings has definitely shifted. I think much of that can be tied to analysts getting the estimates closer to the real numbers, and significant frothiness of the market for DELL in advance of last earnings. I've said for quite some time, that if DELL was trading anywhere over ~55 times trailing earnings, the price is lofty. I've been criticized for it, and someone will pull out their metrics for why DELL is undervalued. Sometimes, I don't think any method of valuation can supercede the perception that a stock is richly valued--no matter how hard you try.

With this said, you may ask, why do I stick with DELL? My answer is that I'd be happy to be an owner of DELL trading at 55 times earnings in one or two years. I'll be much richer then, than now.

LoD
