The original Palm Computing purchase....

Joe said "Yeah, I remember that part. I wonder about the 3COM/USRX part...actually USRX since they were initial buyers. Did they have a clue what they were getting into?"

I'll hunt (later) through the USRX press release archives, if they're still on the 3Com web site... but my memory of that time was that USRX management spoke very positively about the little company which they had acquired.

I remain extremely happy with my Pilot. And my wife the food editor has a 900+ restaurant data base in hers! Even though she wasn't sure she wanted it, she now can't work without it.

To give you an idea about Palm Pilot penetration into the real world, the other day, we were at dinner with a couple of restaurant publicists (that is, flacks), and my wife had the chance to check out her new Palm III upgrade by beaming some information between her upgraded PalmPilot and the new Palm III that one of the flacks had just gotten. PR agents are about as non-techie as you get. Palm Pilots are going to be everywhere!
