MythMan, I don't know if this is Joe's reasoning as well for putting DAQ100. here is what I think. Let us say illiquidity is the issue here.

quote.yahoo.com

The major components of daq100 SHOULD trade 12 mil or higher to indicate the market is still liquid. Here are the avg. daily volumes for these stocks: sickso 21; dell 39; soft 15; intel 18 and worldcom 12 mil shares;

Let us discount these numbers for recent volatility by a 25%. So, on a strong upday if these stocks are trading at least 20% higher than the average daily vol (for sickso it would be ~18 mil), then the liquidity is intact. (Just my read - no magic number here.) If not, trading interest in even the most liquid stocks is waning - indicates to falling liquidity. BTW, you can add to the list NYSE's most traded stocks to get even better picture. Guess what? In the most recent rise the volumes are not up to this mark. I see trouble ahead.

BTW,did you see the note on GTW thread about the possibility of their missing numbers by as much as 6 cents (#reply-6117184.) If they do and still the stock goes-up, it just has to be Skeeter, or even me! -g-
