"someone offering to pray for you is an insult. It is only meant in kindness, and can also be interpreted as someone trying to make an effort to live that good self-reliant life you talk about, by doing
what they believe to be a kind and selfless act."

It would take a lengthy book for me to explain my thoughts on prayer. These kindnesses carry with them the connotation that I am a sinner and going to hell. I neither consider that kind or their business. I choose the kind of life (good or bad) I live and will reap the benefits or punishment. I have no worries about the hereafter because I do no not conceive a hereafter for this body. I cannot possible conceive my next body. However I have lived and will live in all eternity. Each phase of existence will be my creation and thoughts of the past. That is why it is necessary for me to be responsible and keep on working toward what I desire to be rather than begging Jesus to do it for me. Jesus doesn't create my actions. I do.

Re "? No one owes me anything, and I owe nothing to anyone? Ultimately all actions are taken because that is what the person wants and chooses to do." As I conceive life self is just part of the whole. I owe self the best I can do which means I owe all others. They also owe themselves which includes me.
