Gee, Duncan, I have pretty mixed feelings about all those National Geographics on CD-ROM. On one hand, they look like a wonderful source for serious term paper research for high school and college students. At the same time, after wondering for a couple of years about whether the web would wipe out books, magazines, and newspapers, now I don't think it will. There is something about curling up with an old issue of National Geographic, with that stored-in-a-box-in-the-garage smell and everything, that just can't be replicated by looking at a screen.

I guess it's a little like the difference between looking at a nice juicy Costco canned ham on your computer screen, and really slicing one up and gobbling it down. I like the tactile version the best, just like I like curling up with Newsweek in bed every Tuesday night, even though I could get it free online. Are there are a bunch of things you really like doing best electronically?
