<I'm about 8 tenths of a mile from the Brazos. Fortunately, there's a 10' levee between me and it!>

We have some friends who live on the Guadalupe at Gruene. They are now sifting through the mud inside the house for personal possessions. The water got to two feet deep. On the second floor.

You sure it's a 10' levee? Not 119 inches?

btw, I'm about 39/40 from big blue...could be 63/64, depends on how much we've moved since the last shaker.

What's a good house boat go for? <g>

3COM Weather Report: Flooding ravages on

Rivers in southeastern Texas continue to rise well above
flood stage. Many of these rivers are reaching record
levels, and in some cases are as much as an incredible
30 feet above flood stage. Evacuations and rescues are
widespread as the flood crests roll toward the Gulf of
Mexico. Rivers may not return to within their banks prior
to the weekend.

10' levee no good when 30' above flood. Suggest you search
out row boat NOW! Hope you are stocked up on food.

Fortunately, there's a 10' levee
between me and it!

That reminded me of this, what's a Levee? I live in the Desert. :-)

When The Levee Breaks

If it keeps on raining,
Levee's going to break.
If it keeps on raining,
Levee's going to break.
When the levee breaks,
I'll have no place to stay.

Mean old levee,
Taught me to weep and moan.
Mean old levee,
Taught me to weep and moan.
Its got what it takes,
To make a mountain man leave his home.

Don't it make you feel bad,
When you're trying to find your way home,
You don't know which way to go?
If you're going down South,
They got no work to do,
If you don't know about Chicago.

Crying won't help you,
Praying won't do you no good.
Crying won't help you,
Praying won't do you no good.
When the levee breaks,
Mama you got to move.

All last night,
Sat on the levee and moaned.
All last night,
Sat on the levee and moaned.
Thinking about my baby,
And my happy home.

Going to Chicago.
Sorry but I can't take you.
