Why are people buying? Because it is up and the NAZ is strong. Why is it up? Because MMs softened the market in BRCM yesterday to absorb some 2ndary shrs and now they want to distribute those shrs. at higher prices.

If I might answer your question, today's WSJ Marketplace Section has a large piece on the various cable titans and AT&T getting real serious in cable's last mile.

Haven't looked at the other players, but that might be one of the reason's for BRCM's pop today.
