[You can get x86 Solaris.]

You missed my point, which is that SUNW (maker of Solaris) has complete control over all the world's Sparc OEMs, i.e. SUNW (maker of Sparc). The PC is just a hardware platform, like Sparc, or Mac. If it's right for the PC OEMs to be forced to offer non-MSFT OSes on their PCs, it's also right for SUNW to be forced to offer non-SUNW OSes on Sparc. In fact, both suggestions are ridiculous.
