Jay, NEWZ has always been a contrarian, usually going down when it should go up and visa versa. There's a hedge fund that has a greater than 10% position named Basil Regan that influences its activity when you least expect it and other stock investment "clubs" that have run up the price for a few points profit, creating 2 significant 1-2 day spikes. Also there have been suggestions of MM manipulation over the last few months. The point is that this pup's historical data is full of anomalies. It's any wonder that you're getting the accuracy you are.

Oh yeah, in addition to all that, NEWZ is the result of a merger between INDV and DTOP. This occurred around 1/98. So, actually, the 3 yr data files we're using has 2 years of DTOP data and 1 year of NEWZ. Also as I mentioned in my PM to you, NewsEdge is cautioning that it is currently trading against opinion.

Although my NEWZ net is very fit, and relatively accurate, it too has that "bad" buy during the verify, For some reason though, my net missed the turnaround and is still signaling a "hold".

I played NEWZ a couple weeks ago when it tanked for reasons still unknown. I went in against Neuro's advice. I was lucky and got out with a profit on the bounce a few days later. Now I wish I had stayed in!

Sigh... didn't make it so.

To all,

I started a new net last night and am seeing a pattern that I never saw before. In certain parts of the chart in the verify period, I am getting nothing but a black line, no up or down volatility bars. Could this mean that Neuro has no opinion for those days? I doubt that. Even if Neuro thought the price would stay flat, for that it always produces equal volatility bars on both sides of the line. Has anyone else ever seen this pattern? Ideas or opinions please.

Jay
