Asia Pacific
In October 1997, IDC Research reported that there are 5.08 million
people accessing the Internet in Asia Pacific.

IDC estimates that the total number of Internet users will increase to 8.33
million by the end of 1998 and 24.37 million by 2001.

IDC also estimates that World Wide Web users (see "FAQ" for the
definition of Internet vs. Web users) in Asia will increase to 6.86 million by
the end of 1998 and will grow to 23.31 million by 2001.

These numbers do not include Japan.
