I think all of us can say that at some point in our formal education we had a fantastic teacher or two that stimulated participation in discussion and helped develop critical thinking processes, but sadly, I believe that has been and will probably continue to be the exception. That task is best assigned to the parents. Even sadder still, too many parents are consumed with their own TV habits than reading or discussion with their children. Sheesh, it really is getting depressing when you think about it. bp
