I couldnt pull it up with the that link, but no matter....
a block piece after the close could be
1> a market maker closing out the working of an order during the day. ie. client says "sell 100k" so mm goes to work, selling the stock during the session, short out of the mm's inventory a/c..then after he has sold the 100k, he might turn around and put through a trade, moving the 100k from clients a/c to his firm to cover his short position.
2. it oculd be a legitimate block piece.

What could it mean? it means regardless of whether its scenario 1 or 2 above, that someone bot 100k and someone sold 100k. As far as fishing in the stock, I think I have simply been disappointed in bottoming tech stocks over the past year. Our managed a/cs are up great on some fantastic plays in large caps, fixed income etc., but about a year ago we started fishing in some tech stocks that looked pretty beaten up with some attractive features. I have posted it ten times, said it ten times but didnt stick the discipline...bottoming tech stocks is tough. Sometimes they fall out of favor and never come back...i have psft's of the world fall from 50 to low single digits to off the face of the earth.
Some managers want out at any price and dont want psft on their list at year end....
tech stocks have short lives...usually about 2 years (with the few exceptions being MSFT, DELL, INTC, etc.), then adios..new mousetraps, pricing pressures, etc. some receover quite nicely, but many get worse and simply create losses.
becareful, at 20ish, psft has some downside unless they can improve condition.
