Peck v the Other Guy was pretty interesting. The bull case was that Intel's operating margins would go up for some reason to 45% in a "revert to the mean". Guy sounded like a bit of a dreamer...saying they would revert to the mean as if Intel was a some kind of force of life that reverts to its greatness just because it is great...maybe he has reason to believe so but sounded like he was just faithful.

Talked to IT guy at work and asked him his opinion on a few things
.
1 Said hasn't seen much drop in IT spending yet but a lot of spending going to low margin items like cheap hubs and switches (he does a fair amount of network stuff).

2 Said for a lot of people buying premium machines for their companies is a waste of money because price/performance gets worse toward the top end and the apps they use are not even close to needing the top end.

3 Said he sees some medium and smaller companies buying low end machines in $1000 range or so from what I understood, though Fortune 500 tending to stick with higher priced machines.

4 Sounded pretty excited about sub $600 machines.

5 Said he likes AMD hardware and thought it gives more bang for the buck in its area.

6 Seemed to think the corporate PC space is saturated to a large degree. (Didn't as him why he thinks so, it possible he is quoting a Peck report third hand, but he gets around so maybe he knows firsthand.)
Just one guy...would like to talk to a few more.

Alex P.

Drew Peck IS a peckerhead, I cannot believe his rational, anyway do you feel GTW's earnings bode well for Intel tomorrow?...M
