Dell switches Server Software to Microsoft from Novell.
This news has to shoot down NOVL.

OK, that must be why NOVL made a new high today...

Gary,

Actually NDS rides the coattails of NT as a directory service. This DELL conversion to all NT platform is really old news, and is just specific to their corporate headquarters operation, not company wide.

The MSFT press release on DELL conversion to NT is white noise, and you must look through the Novell Directory Tree to see the Networking Forest. LU and PSFT are done deals, while Nortel, SAP, BAAN, IBM Trivoli, and CSCO are lurking out there ready to embrass NDS.

Read my earlier post on NDS announcements in Atlanta conference.

OLD NEWS Gary, and not too big a deal. Everyone in the industry knows the reasons why Dell is making the switch and it has nothing to do with the technical and administrative reasons that they gave. Even the MSFT people on the MSFT board agreed with this concept. You go to that board and search down the discussion we had about this topic today.
