''Cox is already deploying Cornerstone in six of their major markets. I am really enthused about the very real prospect that ANTEC will be a key player in the coming revolution in communication services. I believe that recently announced mergers and partnerships between cable operators and other communications companies will now finally allow competition in the multi-billion dollar local access market.'' "The Company noted that its business model for calendar 1998 called for strong domestic and increasingly strong demand for international sales. Although domestic sales continue to be a growth driver, the ramp-up internationally is slower than planned and may level out revenue growth in the fourth quarter." From 1997 SEC 10-K, "Approximately 60% of the Company's sales for 1997 came from sales to the domestic cable industry." __________________________ DenverTechie, I wonder why they didn't mention TCI by name? It's hard to understand why this would be a secret and would have been a very nice thing to mention that they benefit off the AT&T/TCI combo. And, do you know if Cox has cut a deal with any telephone companies? I'm assuming by the SEC filing that 40% of sales are international. It's a hard statement to read, as is their comments about international sales and Q4! How can "strong domestic" added to "increasingly strong international," equal zero growth? ....oh I get it. You have to read it slowly to understand it. It's a before and after statement. I wish they would have focused more on the domestic market, starting in January 1998, after it was clear that international sales would slow because of the Asian crisis. Now with the recent weakening of the US$, I would think this would add back some profit to Antec to be reflected in Q4. A lot of other companies are saying positive things in this regards.
