Daniel - Personally, I don't agree with the absolutism that "life" as we know it begins at the exact moment of conception. Good for you, Mr. K. Of course, I haven't taken any position on that, only stated that improved access and education about birth control would reduce abortions.Nor do I believe you are accurately representing the position of the pro-life side of the issue. You are conveniently using the position of the furthest fringe in an attempt to stereotype the majority of those who are far from the fringe. What is your motive in doing that? Fear mongering, perhaps? Very cheesy there, Mr. K. I'm accurately representing the position of those who have posted here, and responded to me on the subject. Particularly Dwight Karlsen, brees, and Johannes Pilch. Want me to dig up their posts? I wouldn't venture a guess as to what "majority opinion" is on the subject. And as far as fear mongering goes, I will quote one of my responses to breesI will admit to a certain lack of judgement on my part in even entering into such a polarized debate. I would caution you and Dwight, though, that an absolutist view on abortion doesn't appear to be ultra popular, politically. To which I received the following thoughtful and substantial response from brees:Are you threatening to withhold your Prom King vote. If you think such representation "stereotypes the majority of those who are far from the fringe", maybe you should address them instead of me. And the "pro-life" movement is certainly at the forefront of those who want to keep RU-486 off the market. My understanding is that the "pro-life" forces have been effective in bottling up research money for birth control in general. I'm not certain about that one, though.
