Theo responds: Look, Marc, the problem with posting messages to the board is that you can't see me, or hear the expressions in my voice. There is sarcasm in my last post, and I hope it wasn't offensive to you, or taken out of context.

Yes, I was expecting more, also.

Perhaps, it's the language in the report that bothers me. Jack Kay says so much, yet says so little. If you'd like to discuss the matter further, please send me a private message or e-mail to theo@bridge.net

... and from now on, I'll try to use more :) and ;) in my posts.

I'm interested in knowing how much the following will immediately reduce their operating profit margin:

$4,053,000 for merger and restructuring expenses ($4,803,000 for
the fiscal year), including the disposal of redundant facilities,
severance benefits for employees in redundant positions and
discontinuance of overlapping products
among Phoenix, Award and Sand.

Marc,

<I was hoping for more.... >

I guarantee you that WS was also hoping for more. That's why it went up from the 5's to mid 7's.

<but as I have said previously next quarter is what matters.>

This may well be true, but can you honestly say we haven't heard this many times before, starting early last year?? It's always next quarter. Sounds just like Jerry Sanders and AMD.

Re: What's the problem

The problem is that when you give a range just 30 days ago you should be somewhat conservative. A .08 to .11 range is a huge percentage wise and they barely hit the bottom. It couldn't have been worse unless they missed the range completely. I think tomorrow WS is going to show you exactly "what the problem is".

Hoping for the best and good luck to all.
