Worried and puzzled me also. However, the hire on of Imagio vastly leap-frogs any home grown advertising effort. That combined with Mark Cooper from Gravis times and what is supposed to be strong marketing talent from the MicroNet side should be a very powerful combination.

It will take some time. I seen some of Imagio's work in Web references and it is first rate and very professional. That professionalism comes from deliberate action. It will cost Ampex some "working capital" but it will be an expense well worth it. It also means that Ampex has something much more solid than vaporware to offer to even consider engaging an Imagio styled firm.

Further, I would expect to see some kind of consultancy business benefit accruing from the Imagio relationship. If not directly through the interpersonal contact then indirectly through the networking of the side deals and associations which Imagio has (a buck is a buck). For all its diversity, California high tech seems to be both fiercely competitive and clubby at the same time.

I would expect late winter / early spring as the time frame for a concerted advertising and marketing effort of whatever will be. In the meanwhile, look to the day to day price action for the anticipation of these activities.
