Tokyo Joe, I got a feeling that the market will take a little break tomorrow. As per your call on Wednesday.

MSFT and IBM gave the market an extra leg these last two days but it looks like most bell weathers have reported for the week so a bit of retracement is likely.

What do you think?

The Nikkei didn't like this news:

Thursday October 22, 9:14 pm Eastern Time
Japan-Ltcb-Nationalisation
TOKYO, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan Ltd (LTCB) said on Friday it had applied to be nationalised under a new bank rehabilitation scheme.

LTCB told a cabinet counsellors' office the bank may face a situation in the future where it must halt repayment of deposits, an LTCB spokesman said.

Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi will decide on whether to start the takeover and nationalise LTCB, the LTCB spokesman said.

LTCB is expected to become the first bank to be nationalised in Japan since World War Two.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspaper reported on Friday that the government plans to maintain current large loans to Kawasaki Steel Corp and other major companies from LTCB in order to prevent turmoil once LTCB goes under state control and will also guarantee LTCB's deposits and debentures.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange said it suspended trading in LTCB on Friday.
