Yeah, I can't pass up a great dead cat like AMLN. V1 is pretty adamant that he doesn't want to keep this longer than a few days. I was trying to get him to do 10K shares, short term 8-9K and hold 1K long, but he wouldn't agree to more than a couple of thousand short term only. Since a couple of thousand was my original gut feeling, I can't argue with that, and it's only a grand at risk. I doubt that this sucker drops much lower so I don't see much downside risk in the short term (except nose pollution as the cat rots), but some good high % upside potential. It hit 7/8 intraday yesterday for instance. I figure yesterday was the quick trigger and institutional dumpers getting out and today was the newspaper stock page readers bailing, so it had to go lower as we know that the market makers like to stick it to the retail guys even more than they will the institutional ones. I think the bottom fishers are starting to get in. Tomorrow, I figure there will be more bailers in the AM and more bottom fishers getting in as the smoke clears. Another thing about this one is that if you read the details of the press release closely it sounds a lot better than the headlines from the news agencies. This may be dead, but they are shocking the heart and may get it restarted. The death of AMLN is not a sure thing. GZTC will be huge someday. But, it ain't going to be this year, or next either would be my guess. This is buying into a long term technology that will probably be a major hit in the future. Thus, in this what have you done for me this Q market we are in, this company is majorly discounted. There is not much credence given to long term scenarios these days. You either are making money and doing OK on the market or losing money and the stock is bleeding. GZTC falls into the bleeding realm and will be for a long time. Even if they have some money makers, they'll be pumping the profits back into the business, so I don't look for positive EPS for a long long time. But, they can be building a huge business in the meantime. I really love the technology and really believe in it. This is not a high risk tech like antisense or gene therapy. This is something that is known to work, makes a hell of a lot of sense, is very economical, and is applicable to a huge chunk of the pharma and industrial protein markets. But, it is something that isn't going to happen overnight. GZTC is a great stock to put in the retirement portfolio and forget about for a couple of decades. Watching the price is just too depressing and has no bearing on what is going on inside or over the long haul. Nice to hear from you Andy!!! Hope you are doing well and haven't had to get a real job. Batten down the storm windows your dreaded season is coming. How's the all wheel drive car doing for you? Rman
