Whether or not you think the welfare system works or whatever, I don't think the government has established a record of success in regulating folks personal lives. Why conservatives seem to want Congress to write morality laws all the time I just don't get. Goldwater was my kind of conservative. With him in the White House we could have skipped Vietnam, the Bay of Pigs, and about a zillion morality lectures. You don't know what you've got til it's gone. Chaz
