Maurice - this may be dumb on my part, but the thought of ERICY trying to buy QCOM seems like IBM trying to buy MSFT.

I would expect the following after a few moments pause -- QCOM (or MSFT) would come back with : "No, we will buy you !"

Why should some big, dumb, (ugly (?)), stupid corporation have even a chance of stealing QCOM ?

Jon.

Maurice:

I agree that the Q represents a very attractive takeover target for

Ericcsson, but do you REALLY believe it will happen in the near term ?
(I don't)

If so, do you expect it to be hostile or mutually agreed ?

What about the antitakover Poison Pill provisions that the Q has
carefully put in place ? [Where all their proprietary data goes into
the public domain if a hostile takeover occurs ]

Do you really believe the Q management would contemplate joining
with such a vile enemy at any price ?

As has been reiterated recently by Q management --- they see the FUN
as ---- JUST BEGINNING !!

On the other hand are you suggesting that even we long suffering
shareholders ultimately " have our price " --- at which even the most
loyal, would vote to overturn the Poison Pill provisions and eagerly
" Join with the Devil " ?

If so, what's your estimate of that price ?;

Is there a realistic near term buyout figure which could EVEN
APPROACH reasonable compensation to shareholders --- compared to the
full potential the Q now represents as an independent entity over the
next 5 to 10 years?
