Hmmm... selling off-shore, selling far below market price, failing to file an 8-K... I'm feeling kind of glad the focus was predominantly on Sylver. As the old expression goes: "anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law..."

Why does a company lend shares? What is the business reason for doing so?

It's also interesting that about one month after the company was complaining about the horrors of shorting they--or Gary Sylver--lent Andy Mann 480,000 shares. My my my.
