David, Great Post!
I agree that we should give management the benefit of the doubt...especially at these prices!! I jumped in yesterday at 9 5/16. Current multiples, and the overdone reaction make me believe that we have hit the bottom.
I am going to sit back and enjoy the ride today,
wmj

David -

I don't think we have too much to worry about. Just had a conversation with Steven Yeffa in San Jose and the delay in releasing results stems from LSN in midst of converting their processing systems. With over 500,000 entries to track and convert, this is taking longer than anticipated.

Their business, he says is on target for the year (38% growth) and that even a 5 cent differential to concenus earnings is deeemed "substantial" in today's marketplace. Whether there's a one-time charge writedown or not, he reiterated it will be a good quarter from a profit standpoint.

The important message I got was that his recent revised statement was not related to profit concerns or liquidity. The drop in share price is non cash related! We should not expect to see a company statement or analysts' reports before earnings are released by the end of the first week in November (they will, he said, release them sooner if their conversion schedule can be improved). They will be announing a cc to accompany earnings release.

We talked about LSN losing Dell in March/97 and he said that sort of issue is not relevant here, but that he was restricted (rightfully so) in sharing specifics at this time with either anaylsts or shareholders such as myself.

Overall, my comfort level was "substantially" improved and therefore added to my position at these levels. I am treating this as a not-often-seen short-lived buying opportunity.

Hope this helps,
NOK
