That "Log Off" thing came with this version of Win 95, version B I think it is. Just something annoying sitting above "Shutdown" on the Start menu.

It's a handy feature if you share your computer with someone. My wife and I share our computer, and by maintaining two individual user accounts we can both make our desktop, programs, favorites, etc. look the way we want it. She says mine is a mess! The logoff feature lets her get on after me without having to reboot.

It is likely you'll have to reinstall anything you added
after saving the registry. It would be conceivable to
save the registry entries for those things and then
restore them, but I'd advise against it.

It shouldn't be necessary to uninstall them first.
