Hiawatha Bray was on the UAWG CC asking questions yesterday.

This from LU press yesterday-
"Aware, Inc., a provider of software and technology for Lucent's WildWire offering, also made substantial technical contributions to
the standards committee. Aware provided key technical submissions involving ''splitterless'' DSL ''Lite'' technology, which
alleviates the costs and inconveniences associated with a phone company's technician needing to install splitters at peoples' homes.
Aware also provided low-complexity algorithm technical submissions that enable lower costs of DSL ''Lite'' services for
consumers. "

Aware claims to have submitted patents on G.lite, these have not been awarded yet. It is assumed LU and others would not have enterered into licensing agreements unless those applications were strong.

John, Tim answered a portion of your question on the patents (thx Tim). Also, if you haven't looked at this you may want to, it tells how AWRE sees things coming about. To me it's been informative and gives me a basic understanding of AWRE's plan & product in regards to ADSL.
