I don't recall when the auction will be, but it takes place over several days. They first auction the shorter term notes, then the ten year, and finally the 30 year bonds.

I am convinced this is why the bonds are lower, to attract interest and to test the market interest at different levels. This happens every month, it's nothing unusual. This is a phenomenon of the auction.
