Tax loss selling for mutual funds ends in one week. I think we're headed for a very early January effect this year, IMHO. In fact, you could argue that it began about two weeks ago; I think a lot of people got their selling out of the way early this year.

JG, I think some of the selling today may be people who bought in the sell-off and are taking profits. Just a guess.
