Forced-fed duck. <VBG> And an investment barbiturate.

Just lucky for me that I have a very short list of HK companies that are supposedly capable of maintaining viability under SOME adverse circumstances.

Thanks, WONG, for bringing that one in. I hadn't seen it.

A tough situation for the investor. Brings to mind some old game shows.

Saw, by the way, where Zhu is expected in Guangdong on Sunday. Mmm-mm-mm, I'll bet there are some people running for cover.

Hey! Maybe there'll be a photo-op w/ Wu Yi. <G>

As I read articles about probable distortion of China's numbers, I've tried to figure out why everyone is so concerned.

IMO - if they are fudging the numbers, they are lying to themselves. Their external debt is minimal. Currency is not traded and they set the exchange rate. There are few equities that can be purchased by outsiders, it's in individual companies, and most everyone that has money in them discounts the 'China factor'.

The true picture on Japan's banking numbers are just now being revealed, we now see that some of the hedge funds may be fudging, in recent years methods for determining US government numbers have been changed to present a rosier picture. The numbers are the responsibility of political appointees and all politicians want to put a positive spin on the numbers.

JMHO,
Ron
