Very objective relation of the "facts" there, John. The facts as conveyed from www.microsoft.com, no doubt. I haven't noticed Microsoft putting forth any particular coherent and believably account of what went down at that meeting. Maybe I missed something. As I said previously, the Netscape account seems consistent enough with "standard Microsoft business practice", so beloved here in any but this particular context.

So now IBM is the conspirator in chief? When did that become the party line du jour? Me, I'm still puzzled about this curious form of "capitalism" and "competition", where Microsoft must be free to "innovate", and also to tell everyone else, from Intel on down, exactly what "innovation" is allowed and what isn't.

This trial has a curious structure, with the written depositions for direct testimony followed by live cross-examination. It plays to Microsoft in the early stages. We'll see how Paul "Air Supply" Maritz comes off on cross examination. Pity we won't hear from prematurely senile Bill. He can't remember a thing about any of this! They just wanted to tell Netscape about these cool new features!
