Mike's point was that he could get cable AOL at AOL prices. There I agree more people may stick with AOL due to familiarity.

However, AOL would have to pay to use the cable service. I don't believe they'll win a court case forcing the cable infrastructure to open up to their service for free. So, if you can get AOL on cable it will be at ATHM pricing or above with cable operators gaining some profit per Ahhahha's earlier point.

Maybe someone else can clarify further if ATHM would be the likely recipient of AOL revenues on cable based system?
